A great task is our deliverables. These are both disseminated and communicated through reports, visuals, tools and data sets.
Mitigating climate change, by protecting climate regulating services is one of the actions necessary for reducing the climate risks. Here, increased pressures on ecosystems deriving from human activities across terrestrial, marine and freshwater ecosystems can potentially increase emissions threatening climate regulating services, as well as greenhouse gas exchange.
“Climate Regulating Services -in pictures” wishes to illustrate the role of climate regulating services; how they contribute to mitigating climate change; which human pressures are impacting these them; if we take care of these services, how it contributes as a nature-based solution for mitigating climate change, and the human values one has to take into consideration when speaking of climate mitigation.
Based on co-creation workshops with youth and local stakeholders, as well as literature reviews and our own research, we here dive into the sea of Northern Norway and the forest of Northern Finland and explore; Climate regulating services and mitigation supported by nature.
