GreenFeedBack brings scientists from different natural science and social science and humanity together supplementing each other in a holistic study of the fluxes and lifecycle of GHGs in the earth system. The natural scientist are using different approaches (experimental studies using statistical and machine-learning analysis and ecosystem and earth system modelling) to study the earth system and come together in a joint effort to advance the Earth System Models. Where as the social scientist contribute with co-design workshops to bring the human perspectives, pressures and impact into a holistic system approach. Thus, developing tools to identify and visualize human footprints and a tool to identify and mitigate pressures that human induce iacross ecosystems. Many of the scientists in GreenFeedBack are world known experts in their field, studying GHG fluxes in specific ecosystems, but this is the first time they come together in a joint study of the complete earth system.
